If your parents or grandparents were born in Poland, you may be eligible for a Polish passport. The Consulate of the Republic of Poland in London has confirmed that they will accept copies of documents (such as passports, driving licences, birth, death and marriage certificates) which have been certified by a notary. This can save you having to submit these precious originals to the Consulate. We are happy to help in such cases.A new document, the Pole Card (Karta Polaka), has also recently come into force and can be issued by the Consulate in respect of a person who is not yet a Polish citizen or resident, but can prove cultural links to Poland through documents from Polish Community Organisations and Polish language schools.
Our half-Polish notary Alexandra Rollin attended the Polish Saturday School in Reading (of the Polska Macierz Szkolna group) and is familiar with these certificates. We are happy to certify copies of such original documents for a small fee.
