Indonesia acceded to the UN Hague Convention on the legalisation of documents (the Apostille convention) 4th June 2022, the 60th Anniversary of the Convention.
This means that clients whose notarised documents need to be used in Indonesia will no longer need the documents to be stamped by the Indonesian Embassy, and documents notarised in England and Wales and affixed with an ‘apostille’ issued by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office will be considered fully legal in Indonesia (as if they had been notarised by a notary in Indonesia). This will save clients time and fees and simplify the process.
